Overview
The short version: Home Buyers Guide SA stores all your property assessment data locally on your device. We don’t sell your data, we don’t share it with third parties for advertising, and you can delete everything at any time.
This Privacy Policy describes how Joel Apex Solutions (“we”, “our”, or “us”) collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the Home Buyers Guide SA mobile application and website (propertyinspector.site).

Information We Collect
Information you provide
All property assessment data you create in the app — property details, room assessments, photos, scores, and notes — is stored locally on your device only. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export or share it.
Automatically collected information
We collect limited analytics data to improve the app experience:
- Firebase Analytics: anonymous usage events (screens viewed, features used). No personally identifiable information is included.
- AdMob: anonymous advertising identifiers for serving relevant ads to free-tier users.
- Crash reports: anonymous crash data to help us fix bugs.
We do not collect: names, email addresses, phone numbers, financial information, location data, or any personally identifiable information.
Data Storage
All property data is stored in your device’s local storage (IndexedDB). It never leaves your device unless you choose to export it.
Exported PDF reports are generated entirely on-device and are only shared when you actively choose to share them (via email, WhatsApp, etc.). We do not have access to any reports you generate.
Photos you attach to assessments are stored in your device’s local storage, embedded in the app’s database. They are not uploaded to any server.
Data Security
Because all your property data is stored locally on your device, its security depends on your device’s security settings (screen lock, encryption, etc.).
Analytics data transmitted to Firebase and AdMob is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS encryption.
If you uninstall the app, all locally stored data is permanently deleted from your device.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties.
The only third-party services that receive any data are Firebase Analytics (Google) and AdMob (Google), and only anonymous, non-identifiable usage data.
We may disclose information if required by law, but given that we don’t collect identifiable personal data, this would be limited to anonymous analytics.
App Permissions
The app requests the following Android permissions:
- Camera / Photo access: to capture photos during property assessments. Photos are stored locally only.
- Storage read/write: to save and read assessment data and exported PDFs on your device.
- Internet: for analytics, ads, and in-app purchase verification via Google Play Billing.
Location permissions are not requested or used.
Children’s Privacy
Home Buyers Guide SA is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will address it promptly.
Your Control Over Your Data
You have full control over all data within the app:
- Delete properties: remove individual assessments and all associated data from within the app.
- Clear all data: uninstalling the app permanently removes all locally stored data.
- Export: generate a PDF report at any time to share or keep a record externally.
To opt out of analytics tracking, you can use Android’s standard “Opt out of Ads Personalisation” setting in your device’s Google settings.
Third-Party Services
The app uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Google Firebase Analytics — anonymous usage analytics
- Google AdMob — in-app advertising (free tier only)
- Google Play Billing — premium subscription management
This website (propertyinspector.site) uses Google Analytics to understand traffic patterns. Standard browser cookies may be used for this purpose.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Significant changes will be communicated via an in-app notice.
